Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Minis

Damn, a new awesome favorite junk food that I can't have.

This is so far the best percentage blend of chocolate and peanut butter out there, IMHO.

Not that I'm lazy or anything but it's nice not to have to peel the wrappers off the little things too.

Life is good.

IMO, you're not missing anything. Since Hershey's closed up most of their US plants and moved their manufacturing to Mexico, we don't buy ANYTHING that is Hershey's.

They make an excellent addition to the raw walnuts and Almonds snack I make for myself. The dried fruit in there just needed a little sumpin' sumpin' and M&M's were too much like candy.

Reese's cups get worse the smaller they get. Big cup/holiday shapes > regular size >>>> mini cups

Most isn't being very detailing, now is it. And you would rather make a quicker pace of unemploying Americans working at the Hershey Company by not buying their products because 'some' of their plants moved outside the US borders?

Hmm, what other things are you applying this to? Do you do it with automobiles, clothing, electronics? I seriously doubt it. :colbert:

Actually, I avoid buying as many "non-USA" products as possible. I'm one of the rare folks here who think America needs it's workers, in both manufacturing factory settings as well as office settings. I think I have one or two shirts that are made outside the US, both pairs of "good shoes" are made in Germany...but the rest of my shoes and work boots are all US made, televisions and other electronics goods...sadly, I have no US built options...and automobiles...if they're made in the US or Canada, I'm ok with that...Germany, fine...Mexico...not so much. (I got stuck with a Mexican-built VW Jetta that my wife bought for our daughter...real POS.)

Some of my friends say they can taste the difference in the chocolate since they moved out of the country, I can't though. It is crazy how many things are made outside of the US though. I was looking at our daughter's toys the other day, and out of her whole toybox, there was only 1 toy made in Spain, the rest were China.

I made fluffernutter cups one time... they were awesome, but I learned quickly how not fun it is to work with marshmallow :|.

I'm actually trying to find a way to get the chocolate molded around the sides before I put the filling in... know a good solution?

Gosh those look yummy! One way to get chocolate molded around the sides is to use a brush and kind of paint it around. There are some tricks to working with marshmallow fluff but I forget exactly what - mix fluff with a bit of butter or condensed milk or something. I'll have to dig out my recipe box to remember, and that's going to take some time, I just moved.

Happy eating.

That's a fact. My wife stocks up on the big "eggs" at Easter. Still has probably 5 or 6 of the 6-packs in the freezer. She buys enough to last until the trees show up at Christmas.

Aldi, owned by the same company as Trader Joe's has a 12oz carton of their peanut butter cups for $1.99. It's a house brand named "Route 1"

They're good enough for me, and ridiculously cheaper than Reese's.

Just looked, and it doesn't say where they were manufactured, though.

If you have an Aldis and like Reese's, I recommend at least giving them a try.

If it doesn't say where they're manufactured doesn't that mean they're manufactured in the USA? AFAIK all of the imported stuff has to be marked with the country of origin.
