They were awesome. But they later evolved into some POS shoes. They started making CO2 pump shoes. $125.00 for the shoes, then another $100.00 for the CO2 pump. Crazy!

Remember when kids would get rolled for their Reebok Pumps and it would make major news headlines?;)

Consumer Reports Magazine actually did a study on the Rebok 'pump' in 1989. The study revealed that the 'pump' actually reduced the speed, agility, and jumping height of the person wearing the shoes.

OMG!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the commercial on TV the other day. Brought back memories of 6th grade. This guy not only had the shoes but the little pressurized CO2 inflator pump that inflated the shoes instantly. Badass man. What the hell were those shoes called that were suppose to give you more "hops"? Remember THOSE!!!!

The pair of Reebok Tennis Pumps I had were probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The pump made them fit like a glove, and the Hexalite (tm) made them light as a feather, perfect for tennis!

And Michael Chang wore them! (hey, I was a serious tennis player back then, ok? :D)

I think the best experience with reebok pumps, was when Dee Brown wore them at the Slam Dunk contest, and before his dunk, he stopped, and pumped em up. Everyone was going crazy, I remember Magic Johnson especially was goin crazy about it. It was a rather funny experience. ahhhh the good ole days when the NBA was worth watching.....

Reebok Pumps with the "Energy Return System".....the tubes in the heel of the sole. Didn't seem to make that much difference to me. The Hexalite technology was MUCH more comfortable.
