I have a hijack that has taken over all web serches, it throws a few ridzip.com search results to the top of every Google or Yahoo search. I have searched the web for help but have found very little info on this hijack and how to get rid of it. Any ideas....I figure the easiest thing to do is just to reformat....sigh

You could also try downloading these resources:

Disable System Restore.

Install Kapersky and update it. Set it to use maximum everything, including Extended Databases in the updater part.

Install the others and update them too.

Restart the system in Safe Mode, scan with Kapersky, then Spybot and Ad-Aware. You will need snacks, this is going to take a while.

Start in normal mode and scan with Microsoft AntiSpyware (doesn't seem to work in Safe Mode).

Good luck 🙂
