Redying faded clothes

Take ur laundry tub and make some RIT dye of a similar color (you won't get the "same" color). Fill the tub with the RIT dye and water, leave the clothes in for the specified time - rinse completely and wash. Used to do this with Navy dungarees. They look dyed though, but since you aren't with a thousand other people wearing the same thing you won't stand out.

I'd suggest leaving it alone. Dying clothes is a PITA, and if it isn't 100% natural fiber, the dye won't take well.

It says 100% cotton on the tag. I only need to coat every other winter (if I travel--mild winters at home) so don't really need another. Only the backside has faded so it really doesn't look that good. What's the worst that will happen with dying? I'll probably get it done semi-professionally so...

The worst? It'll bleed on your other clothes, and wash unevenly so it looks blotchy.
If you chose to wash it later, do not mix with any other clothing.

Professional dye jobs may not be worth the value of the coat.

This will darken the entire coat, but won't make the front and back the same color.

OP, buy a new coat.
