Why is it that I read something on /. and 30 minutes later, someone posts it. I would think that most the forum readers here have heard of and visit /. pretty regularly. GAH!!!

I've been to slashdot a grand total of two times since I started surfing the web ten years ago. 😛

Information is always available somewhere else. 🙂

Because its users are sanctimonious, haughty, and annoying. I'm better than you because I read /.!

😀

The stories are good, the comments are annoying.

Because of the amount of stories regarding SCO, DMCA, RIAA, MPAA now? The anti-Microsoft sentiment that seeps through in a lot of story submissions that editors let go unedited (eg they put "M$" for Microsoft)?

Sure it is nice to know the laws around technology and the rights people have. But even just the smallest tidbit that has -anything- to do with SCO, DMCA, RIAA, MPAA etc gets posted frontpage slashdot. Same with Microsoft-related news. I'd like them to get back the focus on "News for nerds, stuff that matters" not "Laws for nerds, hate propaganda".

oh and never say it like it is in a post. If you go against the story you'll end up getting modded like crap or if you say ANYTHING of substance towards GNU/Linux like if you said pre-NPTL it sucked or something 🙂
