I just read an article from today's local paper about the gender gap in colleges....

It basically says that there are more women in college than men. This makes those guys out there with a degree worth more.....if not to businesses, but to girls in college. (The educated ones want to date smart guys with some direction)

Anyhow, locally we're looking at 42% men to 58% women enrolled at my University.
Nationally, it's 44% and 56%, men to women.

I think this is a product of more "primarily men" professions like construction and military that decrease the men's numbers.....and aren't there more women than men in the US anyhow? I don't know if that statistic reaches younger folks or if it's just from the old women who take longer to die. Any thoughts? :p

Considering many "men" blue collar jobs pay almost as well as white collar jobs....Why bother with 4 years of college and student loans. I know electricians, plumbers and mechanics that make as much as I do, if not more.

Difference is, I have a higher top end pay rate and dont have to worry about the weather beyond driving in it to the office. And I most likely get better benefits.

I read somewhere that Seattle Pacific University is somewhere around 70-80% female. The guys there refer to it as "Stocked Pond University". :D
