Redirector websites

Thanks to some idiot who pulled a virus through their Hotmail account, I no longer have access to mine. It's blocked at the firewall. I know I can use plenty of POP mail accounts through 3Wmail, etc., but I started using Hotmail for all my personal stuff and I don't want another change of address. Does anyone know of any redirector websites I can use? Safeweb and anonymizer are blocked (before this incident). There have to be some that aren't. The other option is finding a webmail program that reads HTTP mail. Any ideas? I know I can beat this. They're not THAT bright in InfoSecurity!

Also, I've tried using Outlook Express to read the account, but it can't get through, either.

TIA.

So, you're looking for help in breaching your company's firewall so you can get your personal eMail while at work? Yeah, I'll jump right on that.

Yeah, Russ. That was the intent. I'm in Network Operations and I know exactly what I'm doing when it comes to viruses. The only reason I (and 95% of employees) was trying to do this was because the company encourages you not to use company email for personal reasons. One person gets a virus and they think webmail is evil. We average a virus a week on our Exchange and Notes systems. I know you have your own to look out for, but I'm one of you, too. Half the infrastructure team is coming up with attempts. This was only put in place to stop the dumb people who launch .vbs files in the first place, not to prevent people from doing personal things on company time. (If that were the case, they'd block much more than this. . .) No ethics violations here.

Anyhow, apparently someone quite high up made a complaint. Every site is accesible again. I love the two-second decisions here. . .

CrimsonKing,

My apologies. We do get an awful lot of people in here asking for help with less then honest pursuits, so sometimes I'm a bit too skeptical.

Russ, NCNE

No problem. You deserve to be skeptical. If I had your job, I would be. I like mine instead. Just enough power to be dangerous, but lacking enough to act ignorant. . .

Dial up to your local ISP 🙂

Then you aren't even using any of the companies resources to do personal things.

Another suggestion is to talk to the firewall/proxy admins to explain your situation.

This place has many a network admins which are reluctant to help out in circumventing network roadblocks so these two are other options you can try.

me believe a bigfoot account is listed in the outlook mail setup wanna start there or use a yahoo account and forward from hotmail to the new yahoo account and bobs yer aunties sisters dad, thats how i do it and i get the yahoo mail through pop settings in outlook

To acess through most proxies, do this,
1. Ping name so you have IP Address
2. Convert each octet to a hex number (Calculater will do this in Scientific modeb.
b.b.b.b --->h h h h
3. Run all of the hex together,
hhhh
4. and convert to binary
bbbb
5. Put Number into address bar of IE....

and I am not responsible for what anyone does with this information....
