Rediff-Mail > G-Mail

WTF is the hype for this G-mail all about? I'm guessing its something to do with google or something. Anyone mind giving me the details and why this is such a big thing?

cuz sheep are sheep and they'll eat anything...

nothing is 'free' in the end.

if every user really uses 1gb, gmail will win.
you know the other two are just hoping people don't use 1gb, and they don't have the finance to back up the hardwares.

I like yahoo mail. It integrates with my.yahoo.com so I can get all my stuff on one page, email, news, stocks, weather, etc.
It is 100MB now, which is plenty. I have gmail account too, but not convinced I should use it except for huge files.

I'll never understand people who don't see the value in having a good company running your stuff. I trust google not to, a) Lose my email, b) Go out of business, c) Start offering much crappier service (hotmail anyone?)

To summarize...
Gmail is free (unless you got it off of e-bay 😉)
It is run by Google

If you do not understand either of those points, I suggest you sign up for crummyIndianMail.com and let me know how that works out for you.

i beleive its "google>x" where x is whatever email service u have now.

plus, everybody is going to use gmail like everybody uses google, thats what happens when you offer a superior service. people use yahoo mail because they used yahoo. we know how many people use google for research, even none research sometimes(i see kids search for yahoo.com on google to get to the yahoo page instead of actually typing in yahoo.com in the url bar, and thats a major trend with the non-tech savy), once they see 'sign-up for gmail' under the google sign everybodys gonna jump on it.

not to mention there is way more technology(and thinking!) behind google mail then yahoo/hotmail/etc

now all i need a google messenger...

The only people I know who use rediff are Indian (FOTB, not ABCD <- one of them told me what that means yesterday... I figured it applies here 😉). Almost every Indian I know uses rediff. They use it to keep up on Indian news, cricket scores, email, etc.
