Rediculous hubcap story..

My wife came home today and discovered that she was missing a hubcap on her '03 Jetta, doh. Those cost like $100 to replace. Anyways, she hit a monster pot hole on the on ramp and was confident that that's where it fell off.

So we drive 7 miles, get off, get back on and pull over at the site of a hubcap. I put on my flashers and wait for no traffic and go snag the hubcap. Damnit, its an oldsmobile, but wait, theres another smashed hubcap in the median. Nope, some other make. Then my wife spots 2 more over on the right side of the road. One is a VW!!! Another one is a Toyota.

We snag up the VW and then see 2 more hubcaps! Another VW, uh oh, which one is it? Anyways, we found the hubcap heaven apparantly. We toss both VW hubcaps into the trunk and start to pull out.

There is another car pulled over with their blinkers on, and I wonder if they too might be looking for a hubcap. I get out and turns out that they got a flat tire. I pull my jack out, but it doesn't fit. Couldn't help, but I tried.

Anyways, strange night. They need to fix that damn pothole I guess.

Cliffs...
1. Lost hubcap
2. Search for hubcap
3. Find hubcap graveyard
4. Bring two close matches home
5. Try to help another car with flat

On the Kia, the brakes are so poorly made the plastic hubcaps melt off.
BTW, not covered by the warranty, neither are the brakes.

Fuck that. My car has 3 hubcaps and functions just fine. You don't "need" a hubcap. My car is for transportation so I would not pay hundreds or thousands of dollars on rims.

And yes, one of the VW caps ended up being correct
