redhat 9 wlan troubles???????

I been using redhat 9 i installed on my laptop and i wanted to try some wireless sniffing so i downloaded kismet and i heard i needed the wlan drivers ( not too sure if i did i'm a noob ) so i installed them and it wiped out my pcmcia/wireless config files. I was wondering how can i restore the config files? I've never had to do that kinda thing before. I wasnt sure if i could unstall the wlan rpm? And if that would make it reconfigure my card automaticly??? I'm not sure if it can do that either????
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!

OH and when it showed the wlan adapter it looked like a regular ethernet adapter
