Redhat 9 + nforce = stutter?

I just got Redhat 9 up and running on an nforce board (A7n266-vm)

I've recompiled the kernel, added the nvidia provided rpm, and everything works except the main usb ports. But the real problem is this:

Whenever I access the internet or use the ethernet port, everything gets real stuttery. I thought it had something to do with the optimization, because it was set for throughput. I changed it to be CPU optimized, and it randomly freezes. But, before it freezes, I can access the ethernet without any slowdown.

Update: It freezes for like half a minute, and then it's fine.

Should I start or stop some service? Any ideas?

Thanks, Graham

I think it is caused by the hard drive not having DMA enabled. I have the same problem on the same mobo (using Mandrake), and enabling DMA fixes it (most of the time anyway). See the README included with the drivers (or on the nVidia site) for additional info.
