Dunno why they call it "XXX XXX Linux 9 (Shrike)", does it come with free porn? lol.

I tried to checkout, and the shipping fees seem reasonable:

They call it "XXX XXX" Linux for the same reason CheapBytes calls theirs "Pink Tie" Linux. Red Hat corporation has threatened legal action to defend their copyright of the "RedHat"(tm) Linux Distribution (c).

How does changing the name dodge copyright issues?

Good question. But I guess the Linux operating system itself is a GPL, so I don't think Redhat has any claims on it. But they still got the right to not allow other people repackage and distribute it as "Redhat Linux".

This happened about two years ago. Redhat owns the name "Redhat", but not the GPL software. Redhat doesn't want people to advertise "Redhat Linux" since there is a warranty for "Redhat Linux" that you can buy retail. They were afraid that customers would be confused. Redhat asked the mass CD copy places like linuxlabs and cheapbytes to not use the name.

Linux is the beast. It just need more supports and user friendly. It's weird that they have the 4 screen kinda thing going on. Too bad I don't know enough programming to modify it as I like. :(

I distribute copies of RH 9, debian 3.0 R1, and Mandrake 9.1.

For Anandtech users, I am offering a special price of $6.50 SHIPPED anywhere in the US and CANADA for a three-disc set. I will give you a link to my ebay feedback upon request. MY email: jtpx@yahoo.com. I put each disc through an integrity verification and I ship with secure packaging.

About the copyright thing, yes, it is true. I received an email from Red hat teling me to stop using their trademark in my ebay descriptions.

I am just getting introduced to Linux, and I like what I see so far. I hope this is not too technical a question for you, but do any of your distros support home phone line PNA networks (including the Broadcom 4210 and 4211 chips)?

I tried to modify knoppix, but it's beyond my expertise.

Thanks.
