About 60% done. It's just stuck (I hear the CD stopping and starting) on CD 2 for the second time. Instead of hitting the power button (because there is no other explanation on what to do to safe stop and resume the install) like I had to last time, any suggestions on how to safely resume it?
Oh, and I needed to download three bloody CD's -- is Linux becoming more bloat than Windows?
I agree, it sucks to have to download 3 CD's.
But OTOH remember what you get on them, everything, two desktop environments, lots of window managers, all kinds of server(SQL, HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc etc etc), programming tools, two sets of office packages, etc etc, pretty much everything you'd ever need.
The stupidity is in the way RH packages it, they should have the essentials on the first CD and make the other two "packages CD's", kinda like FreeBSD, that way you'd only need the first CD to get a system with a good GUI and the essentials, plus a bit more, up and running with the first CD, but if you wanted all that extra stuff, download the other CD's.
Oh and ranting aside, I agree with Ren, make sure the CD's are ok.
Or, try a text based setup(I believe you type "text" at the first prompt), it's more verbose and is likely to show you more details about the error.
