RedHat 6.x

Does anyone know where I can download ISO's for RedHat Linux 6.x? I've got an older system that I'd like to learn Linux on, but RedHat 7.2 runs very sluggishly on it. I also have a book on RedHat 6.x that I bought a while back and too many things have changed for me to use it with 7.2. Thanks.

Heh. You can download the secure kernel developed by the NSA.

Here

It's able to run on RH 7.1 so I'm assuming it'll work for 7.2 as well.
Don't quote me on that.

Edit:

Oh yeah! They have older versions for RH 6.2.

He was looking for 6.2 not 7.2 😉

And I can reply even faster 😛

The main problem with redhat 6.2 is that there are a lot of vulnerable services that startup by default. Ive heard stories of people rebooting after the install and getting cracked as soon as their system hit the net. That was my main concern. I dont know how much the NSA patches would help, but I personally do not trust the NSA at all.

Debian or slackware may be a better solution for an older machine.
