<< Jar Jar is obviously a black slave. >>

How the hell did you get that idea? He's neither black, nor a slave. He lives in a free society of wierd fish creature things....
>>

I hope that comment was tongue in cheek, or sarcastic, or whatever way you want to say it. And if it isn't... his speech is similar to that used by people to mimic black slaves during the long period of slavery in America, more prominently the American South. I believe this form of speech to stereotype slaves was also popular in Vaudville acts where the actors painted their faces black except for a large area around their lips.

Have you ever seen Wild Wild West? Watch Will Smith do his impersonation of a slave to sneek his way into the dinner party near the beginning, I swear George Lucas saw that and said "JAR JAR will speak like that!"

EDIT: Also Jar Jar becomes indentured to those Jedi guys, like a slave for them. Lucas suffered heavy criticism for these "stereotyped characters" when the phantom menace first came out. It's not like I'm making this up.

<< I thought Lucus wasn't directing the Ep 2 and 3.
Well, I haven't been keeping up with Star Wars recently.
>>

yeah, thats what we would have hoped... Empire Strikes back is by far the best of all of em, and it wasn't directed by him :)

He may have great idea's and all, but man, he gets the Cheese Monday action goin when it comes to the 2 he's made.

Well the two guys at the beginning were definitely supposed to be asian. That's as clear as the blue sky.

"meesah gonna get canned?"

i liked the ewoks... sure, the party at the end was dumb, but their battle scene looked better than the stupid jar jar vs droid battle scene.

Actually I think I got the idea from a Lucus interview included in on the video of my copies of the Trilogy. Its the Special Edition or Rereleased edition or something.

I agree. The Jar Jar people vs. the droid scene looked like it should have been in the Final Fantasy movie instead. Too much CGI is not a good thing. That's what scares me about this new one.

one thing that LucasFilm has changed their strategy in is the freakin marketing... can you remember 6 months before Episode 1. Everywhere you looked there was something for Ep1 for everything. Now its Episode II isn't as bad. Can you image if no one would have known about the double-bladed lightsaber? It would have been FREAKIN AWESOME!

<< "meesah gonna get canned?">>

More like "meesah gonna die". I've heard that Jar Jar is rat food within the first 15 minutes of the flick.

HAHA!! :D Yeah, Panaka is awful. The "kiss your trade franchise goodbye" line has to be one of the stupidest is movie history. They've just illegally invaded a peaceful planet, killing untold numbers of people...I think they've got a little bit more to worry about than losing their trade franchise.

I cant stand the CG in ATOC it looks way to fake. All the actors look way to superimposed.

Yep, they sure have changed the marketing. I found out just few hours ago that tickets to SW II were on sale here in Finland :D.

As to Panaka... Now that you mention it, he IS wrong all the time! Only thig he seemed to get right was the name of R2-D2 :D!

Besides Jar Jar, the thing I hated in ep1 were the droids... they were just SOOOO stupid! "Go check it out, we'll cover you" "Roger, roger!". Why would droids need to cover another droid in combat? They are machines! Why do they need to talk to each other, can't they use radio or something? How the hell do they miss all the time, they should have perfect aiming!

Have you noticed that in all SW-movies very few living things die? I mean, in ep1 they had droids, so there was no real killing (well, maybe few). Stormtroopers were covered in full-body armor, so they didn't have any human qualities in 'em.

I always thought the two androids, particularly cp3o, sucked. Why would anyone voluntarily tolerate machines that makes so much annoying noise?

After 3 minutes of living with cp3o, any sane person would click its "Sounds and Media" and make some adjustments.

There's just something about a girl with blue skin. :p

There are some rock & roll elements to the Ep. 2 soundtrack, also. Weird. Especially in track 3.
