You don't get how "free speech" works do you?

It's amazing how delicate these people are. The moment someone doesn't like hosting a bunch of white supremacists they're all

It all makes sense when you realize they aren't after freedom of speech, they're after freedom from consequences.

Sadly I'm sure the irony of them calling other people 'snowflakes' or whatever is lost on them.

Wont they just move to a new subreddit? Doesnt seem to accomplish much this way.

There are internal mechanisms at reddit that help with that. Don't ask me how I know.

But yes people who want to cause trouble manage to find a way and there are incremental steps to try and help counter, with nothing being perfect of course.

Welcome to Amerika where "free speech" is king! Where conservative ideology is considered so utterly vile and offensive that it's commonly suppressed throughout our society as acceptable practice without regard or concern for the most sacred of our country's founding principles and tenets. Free indoctrination and "safe zones" offered at most every major college and university! This is the new American dream...totalitarianism for all! Come one, come all!

It was in the article linked, FYI.

That would take time and some willingness to think and we can't let that get in the way of those juicy tears.... bwhahahah...

Yet another thread where many people display a complete lack of understanding on what freedom of speech actually means.

Can't surprise anyone. Targeted harassment/doxxing is like numero uno on every community's list of "thou shalt be banned".

It was funny to see a few hard-right people here throw a fit when it was patently clear they hadn't read the article. If a subreddit repeatedly doxxes people and the mods do little or nothing to stop it... well, they're lucky if the ban is all that happens. Even if it weren't a private website, your free speech rights don't cover harassment and threats.

Shh! You and your facts! You stupid evil progressive liberal and your knowing of how the constitution works!

Boom, down goes the strawman!

I haven't seen anyone say or suggest that they don't (or shouldn't) have the right to do whatever the want with a sub. They are a private company and can set whatever policies they want under the law.
