Redbox carries a lot of knockoff crap and I think it's hurting their brand. I can see it in the anger of the reviewers.
For example, here are some movies they've had recently:
Car's Life 2 (knockoff of Cars)
American Warships (knockoff of Battleship)
Snow White: Deadly Summer (knockoff of Snow White and the Huntsman)
A lot of these movies are by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Asylum , which such knock-off blockbuster titles as The Terminators (knockoff of Terminator) and Transmorphers (Transformers).
What this company does, and Redbox is eager to help them with, is taken a current blockbuster, very slightly change its name, and write a story similar to the blockbuster version. It gets released after the blockbuster leaves theaters but before it's on DVD. These movies are all total garbage.
Personally, I do respect Redbox a lot less for partaking in this. I'd rather they bring back old movies than these new crap ones which some people (not me, thankfully) do seem to fall for and rent.
