They're just a doing a good job with the resources they have, using tricks and what not to make it look better than it actually is. A good thing, because if the game play is good, you'll probably quickly forget about the graphics like any good game will do if it can successfully suck you in.

I have a feeling the swords will end up feeling like an afterthought. I'm most looking forward to the FPS style play (with guns) with the wiimote.

The 2nd and 3rd looked pretty nice. I'm so stoked for the Wii. I'm totally reliving the days before I bought my SNES so many years ago... it's rediculous.

It's interesting these look SO much better than the screenies from Far Cry for the Wii, which looked like ass warmed over.

The FarCry screens are really, really disappionting. It looks like they just did a quick port and didn't take the time to optimize or tweak anything. They look significantly worse than FarCry on the original Xbox, and Wii is more power than that so... yeah.

I'm sure you're right (besides, it seems to me that everyone who wants to play Far Cry at this point has done so), but I think if I were Nintendo I'd be a little pissed at those screenies being released, since they might suggest to "serious gamers" that the Wii is really lacking in horsepower.

In any event, Red Steel looks awesome.

These screens are 1200x768 and they look anti-aliased. Possibly doctored up PC screens, does the Wii even support that resolution?

Those look nice.

But umm... they're higher resolution than a Wii is capable of.

If you take a look at all the screens posted for the game, they are all at that resolution, and quite a few are pretty obviously in-game (at least real time rendered) shots. I'm not quite sure why they are 1200x768, but you can watch the videos and see that actual gameplay does look similar.

Looks like original Xbox graphics, maybe a bit better with effects. I don't mind, love Nintendo stuff :) Looking forward to my Wii!

Good game design teams seem to always make the most of what they have to work with, seems to be the case here.

Looks upscaled to me.

Since its basically a gamecube, they know all there is about getting every last drop out of it. So the games are naturally going to look better than first gen console games tend to look.

Screenshots are worthless. For all you know, it could have taken 30 seconds to render that screen. I doubt it did, but I'm just pointing out that a screenshot doesn't demonstrate anything about the system's performance.
