The 10 fastest-growing states ? from No. 1 Nevada to No. 10 New Mexico ? are all in the West and South. President Bush won nine of them in November's election. The exception was Delaware, ranked eighth. The Census Bureau classifies Delaware as a Southern state.

?California remained by far the most populous state at 35.9 million. Foreign immigration fueled much of its growth in the past year. But California continues to lose more residents to other states than it gains from the rest of the USA.

Yes, it looks like more people are leaving Blue states and moving to Red states. I wonder if it's democrats or republicans leaving those states?

Given that Red States are becoming more populated, that means more Representatives and Electrorial Votes for Red States. This is, of course, assuming that the population shift doesn't shift the state's traditional voting pattern.

Delaware is south of Penn and the same (rough) latitude as Va & MD; relative to the northen border.

During the War Between the states, MD & VA were considered the Confederacy.
 
It's a Liberal trick! They had you all thinking they were headed to Canada, then at the last minute they veered off to the Red States. Come next election the US will be awash in a Sea of Blue. 😉

If these people are moving with a job waiting, they are probably heading to cities.

In the long run i can see this being good for the blues.

Red cities do not provide that volume or size of handouts that the blues do.

Look at un-employment compensation as an example.

Also, welfare transfer payments.

People are migrating to the Red because the quality of blue is declining.

Mobile, AL, Birmingham, AL, Baton Rouge, LA, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Tulsa, OK, Omaha, NE, Chatanooga, TN, Knoxville, TN, Lexington, KY, Cincinnati, OH, Salt Lake City, UT, St. Petersburg, FL, to name a few, were all red.

Additionally, consider this:

- Of the ten most populated cities, or places in the USA (ranked in order: 1. New York City, New York; 2. Los Angeles, California; 3. Chicago, Illinois; 4. Houston, Texas; 5. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 6. Phoenix, Arizona; 7. San Diego, California; 8. Dallas, Texas; 9. Detroit, Michigan; 10. San Jose, California), President Bush won the counties where four cities are located. Those cities are highlighted in bold.

- Of the five most populated counties in the USA - Los Angeles County, CA (9,871,506), Cook County, IL (5,351,552), Harris County, TX (3,596,086), Maricopa County, AZ (3,389,260) and Orange County, CA (2,957,766) - President Bush won three - the last three on the list, highlighted in bold.

Kerry won in New Mexico. This will be more widely known after the recount.
Nevada is questionable as well, but not so certain. And the part of Nevada that is growing (Vegas) is VERY blue.

Is there actually a major red city in america? I would guess SLC and OK city.

Edit: My bad harris county TX (Houston you would think would be a bastion of conservatism IMO) was 45%-55% -a real landslide :roll:
Whearas the oldest and most culturally diverse city (San Antonio Remember the Alamo!) is 56%-42% Blue
Give em time the world is a progressivly blue place -it's only a matter of time regardless of the backwards folks dumping these little surprises on humanity from time to time.
