Red Sox trying to trade Manny Ramirez

"On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated reported on its Web site that Ramirez, for at least the third time in four seasons, had asked to be traded. The report said he told club officials he was unhappy in Boston, especially with an off-field lack of privacy."

What do Red Sox fans think about this? How do you guys feel about Manny?

I'm not a big fan of this guy. He's got a ton of talent but seems to take a lackadaisical attitude about playing.

Lets get some good discussion going!

BTW - I'm a Yankees fan.

Ortiz is the man in Boston, Not this shytty Ramirez

Ortiz seems like a really good guy. Of course, you never know what someone is really like, but he looks like he has fun playing and seems to really appreciate the fact that he is a major league baseball player.

Manny, to me, has always been aloof - even before he was on the Sox.

He's not going anyplace.

Yeah.

He has too much left on his contract and he won't get any less privacy anywhere else.

Yep.

He was placed on irrevocable waivers two offseasons ago, anybody could of had him without giving up any players and nobody wanted to touch his contract.

Ya.

He is good. First in the AL in RBI's and HR's..

What about the Mets or the Giants?

I thought Manny was from Washington Heights, NY - so he's sort of be "going home".

The Giants could use a big time slugger with Bonds out.

What do you think Boston would want in return? Pitching? A bonafide closer? Or a mix of prospects and an above average outfielder?

He's from NY, my dad used to play ball with Manny when he was a kid.

Boston needs pitching.
