RED Scarlet "quick & dirty" sample posted (screencap + flash vid)

yeah, saw that sample a couple of days ago. this will really change the game I think.. the RED scarlet will open up a lot of opportunities. Though, still going to have a tough time editing all this stuff, ha.

I'm going to stick w/ saving for a 5dmkII. I already have the lenses, and it'll be a hobby anyway on top of my photography, heh.
 
Now THAT is a video camera.

I think that although hybrid DSLRs will start approaching the quality of pro-level cameras of today, RED's new cameras will establish a new level of quality that will maintain a distinct separation between the two classes of video recording devices.

Even in that highly compressed clip, I could see a distinct difference in detail/quality over the best 5D2 clips I've seen.

Yeah, the point is it's a video camcorder first - it has all the nifty goodies that make it "look" like film, not just a digital video like from a 5D MKII or a D90. But boy oh boy...I can't wait to put a down payment on one of these babies! I'M SO EXCITED!!! 😀
