Red pixel on black background on brand new LCD, what to do?

I snagged one of those Samsung 712N 17" LCD's on Black Friday and got my first red pixel with black background. With a white background I can barely make it out.
I think I read somewhere where someone had their's kinda fix itself. It's been on for about 20 minutes now without change. Is it time to take it back for an exchange?

I had that problem with a Dell 8600 laptop and it is now being fixed. What do you think my response would be? =P

If they take it back, your next one could have _2_ stuck pixels.

Stuck and dead pixels are pretty common on 17" and larger LCDs. Supposedly if you very gently massage the area of the pixel (use a lint-free cloth) it will sometimes unstick the pixel.

I ran MS Paint and filled with black to see it well and did a gentle massage but no change. I'll return it tomorrow, hopefully for an exchange so I can keep the rebate. It's not at all bad of a monitor. I played UT2004 and it seemed a little better than my other 17" Samsung LCD with the 25ms response time.

when you get the new LCD, have them open and test the LCD at the store.(i went in the test room and checked out the LCD for myself...gotta love Staples).

yeah if you just purchased an lcd and find dead pixels, better to take it back to teh retailer for an exchange than to go to the manufacturer.
