Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 at Target for $9.98

I just got back from my local Target and picked up Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 for only $9.98. Not a bad price. About half what you can find elsewhere I think. I don't know if all Targets clearance their items at the same time. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Same here. Not a big fan of it or DOD:S either. With all the great WW2 games that have been made in the past few years, these just don't live up to me. Although, it's cool to have a game where you arn't the Americans for a change.

This is one of the most "realistic" WW2 multiplayer shooters. I played the free UT2004 mod version, which is well worth downloading, and might buy Ostfront. Not a run and gun arcade game. More like run and die, run and die, until you get the hang of it. Iron sights and many one shot kills, plus a few tanks and other vehicles to control.

In the mod version you had to watch where your anti-tank rounds went as they would bounce off at certain angles, so you aimed for magazines and weak spots. The tank and apc drivers could crank up an armored panel for a better view, but this made them vulnerable to small arms fire. Calling in artillery strikes was fun. Large maps and weak bot support in the mod version limited the appeal when playing at small home LAN parties. Never played the commercial version, which is also sold through Steam.

For what it's worth, this game is amazing. It is definitely an acquired taste, but I'm hard pressed to think of a game I go back to so often. My only regret is that the game is windows only, the mod ran on anything UT2004 would run on 🙁

For $10? it's worth the try, if you don't dig it, give it to someone els... it'll find a home quickly I promise

4.98 at my local target, I resisted though. Not enough time for me to get into a another game... and I would think you would want to play this now while others were playing as well.
