Red line through screen

I have a acer laptop. It has a verticle red line through the screen. I have researched it and found that it is probably a bad contact. I heard it is tuff to fix on your own. Any suggestions or any idea how much to fix it?

this type of defect is very difficult to repair, as for cost I have no idea because at my old company we just marked them as "bad panels" and sent them back to the manufacturer.

The LCD panels are the most expensive part of the laptop and can easily by 200-400 US just for the part and much more if it is a newer machine with xga or wide screen

Fixing Redline through screen: couple hundred
Spending fixing money on something else: couple hundred
Throwing Sony laptop into dumpster: priceless

(Sorry, I had to give it a try. The way you worded the topic title started the whole thing🙂

It is a bad contact and luckly it is covered in the warranty. I wasn't sure it was but they said they would fix it.
