This turns out to be a smokin deal. The same thing at newegg is $396. It looks like a mistake. I doubt it has anything to do with retail vs. oem. Too big of a price difference.

yup. I see the $299 now. too bad I already have a Soyo Dragon+/XP1800+ combo running right now. not gonna get another system until the thoroughbreds are out and they have a good 333 mobo with everything on it. would help if RAM prices would come down again.

remember the good old days when crucial had the 15% off and 256MB PC2100 DDR DIMMs were going for $28?

I wouldn't even be considering this one but my brother~inlaw saw what I built for a sub $1000 system with monitor keyboard and speakers...etc...oh stop the voices in my head! :|

 
I don't know that I would make the assumption that this is a "permanent" price. TCWO has already demonstrated that they will put it up for short periods of time at a lower price. Who knows, maybe there's some kind of rotating program adjusting it on and off every now and then. I'd check the site early in the morning. Can't remember the name of the software, but wasn't there some little app that would query a webpage and notify you of any changes to it?

 
So, has anyone got a confirmed shipment on this deal? This is my first TCWO order, so I don't know how they tend to operate. I got an intial email saying "we got your order; it should ship within 24 hours". So it looked like it was accepted OK.

Now, though, when I try to check order status on their site, I get "an email will be sent to you in 24 hours", but have yet to see anything. Anybody have any luck? Anyone with experience ordering from these folks? Anyone out there?

I ordered early sunday morning. I called them yesterday and was told that my order was held up because they were out of the fans. For what it's worth, the csr assured me that my order would be filled and that the fans would be in today.
