Topic got alot of attention I c

Let's get the lockie lockies out of thread hmmmmm sorry no count down here. C ya :D

If u want to try a quick hit or miss on store closings SKIP the steps. Go to end of this post to DEALS NEAR YOU site link. Please read the NOTE after Link before u go. I do not want any PMs saying they missed out by using Deals Near You. Tks ! I believe the WEBMASTER for Office Depot's homepage knows just a " tad " :p more than the Gordonbros's do.:Q That the OD's WebMaster ;) has and did do the UPDATE already by ommiting " HISTORY " stores.

OK here is what u need 2 do :;)

1st Go 2 your local OD B&M pickup their catalog.(skip if u have 1)

2nd Go to OD website click on FIND A STORE FIND A STORE LINK

3rd Most IMPORTANT is that the ONLY ! thing u enter is your STATE Nothing else !! THAT IS THE CODE

4th Print out the list of ALL stores in your state.

5th Match that list with the 1 that is in the back of catalog.

6th Cross out each store that r on both lists.(The best way,I found out 2 b was reading the list & having someone else cross out the locations I mentioned. Because it can get hard when u have a large city, having 4 stores same town all on same street. Then u go by either address # or phone #. Found this 2 b true in NYC, Detroit.)

7th Remaining stores that were NOT crossed out in catalog list, r the 1s CLOSING THEIR DOORS !

8th Most closing stores have the sale 3 three days. On the 3rd it has been fill up a cart of ANYTHING 4 only$ 25 LINK

ENJOY !

PS: I did get a email (heard others here did also) from office depot about 80 % off deal. They have you type in your zip code then hit enter. I was linked to their website saying " sorry no stores closing within 60 miles of you".THIS WAS BS not 100 % working. Why ? Because I am in NJ have 2 stores within 5 and 25 miles. Also 2 stores in NY state within 20 miles. (I'am on NJ/NY border.) Not to mention all the ones closing in Long Island, NY !!! .... again less then 60 miles away !:|:|:|:|

Also u can try getting the list of OD closings. From this site Gordonbros's DEALS NEAR YOU LINK Note I have found that their list of stores were NOT 100 % accurate ! Site had missed 3 closing stores by me. One which is only 5 miles away. DEALS NEAR YOU did give me a list(though NOT COMPLETE) of closings. Nearest of which was 150 miles away. I am in NJ talk about bumper to bumper, road rage etc. Just posted this if u do not have a catalog and want to go hit or miss " TREASURE " hunting. Good Luck !

Not a good move. Because not 100 %. I do my homework before my posts. Hate the flamers. Have a friend in Arizona. 9 stores r closing there. NOT ONE was listed in phone book. Family member in Michigan. 8 stores r closing there. 5 of which were NOT listed in phone book. So far my way has been 100 % on the mark.

There're five stores in Southern California that are closing.. Check the Press Telegram in Long Beach. I will have an ad in there everyday. However there's nothing left at the stores.. Last time I went all they had were printer ribbons. That's right, "ribbons"!

So no luck in finding anything good.

I went to Y@hoo yellow pages and did a search for office depot, then compared that list with the CA list on the OD website, and found two more places in So Cal on the OD website than on the yellow pages. Logically those would be the newer stores. I'll give the catalog trick a try tomorrow and compare to both lists.

I seriously think this OD and OM discount hunting is nuts, especially if you actually drive around looking for a store with a deal on something you would be willing to buy. About 80% of the stores I have looked at either don't clearance to low prices or every, and I mean every clearance tag item is completely sold out.

Sunday night I thought I was about to get lucky. I walked into a OD, looked around and found basically nothing (left), then noticed an employee had a rolling cart with piles of filled out clearance tags. When he noticed I was following him, he put the cart away and disappeared into the back longer than I was willing to wait.

Here in Long Island,NY, all ODs are closing.
There are 2 ODs in 10min dist from my home and another 2 ODs in 10min from my work.
I've regularly checked them up, but nothing left. Just bunch of craps.

PS: Anyway, I guess that's the reason why they are closing. 2 ODs near my home are just 2-3min dist from each other! What were they thinking?

That's a good idea. Alternatively, if you don't want to go down to get a catalog, just go to yellow pages, type in your zip and do a search for OD's nearby. It usually lists almost all the ones within a 50 mi radius. Then follow the steps for matching at the OD.com site.

Is there any way to confirm a closing store? And if the store is closing when should we expect the sale?

Yeah same here..

For those in Long Island, the OD near COMP USA (Garden City?) in closed.. They closed last Saturday, but I'm not sure if they did the "all you can get for $25" deal.. does anyone else have any updates about the one in Farmingdale and/or Westbury

I didn't even get a chance to go to any. :(

Office Depot supposely is the biggest office supplies chain, since they are closing all those stores, will Staples currently #2 move up to #1?
