Red Hat release?

How often Red Hat, in general, release new version of Red Hat? What version of that Red Hat released was first?

From my experience, they release a new version about every 6 months. Sometimes longer when they move up a whole number.

One of the problems/benefits to these companies is that they do not have a set release schedule. RedHat's next release should be 8.0 and chances are it will suck.

Redhat's last nice version was 6.1. I am still running it on one of the servers . Although it's been hard to install new programs on it lately. I have to recomplie half of the libraries to add something
