I was just given an ATC-5200 motherboard and I am attempting to load
Red Hat (or any flavor on linux) on it, and have been unsuccessful.

Can anyone tell me if the ATC-5200 is compatibile any linux versions?

Welcome to Anandtech!

"Unsuccessful" is a bit too vague to let us help you. Describe the problem as precisely as you can please.

Thanks for the response.

First of all, the auto detect function of the BIOS finds the hard drive and the CDROM that I am using.

Knowing that, I have attempted to boot to linux (RH 5.1, 7.1, 8.0 and Mandrake 7.0 and SuSe 6.3)
from CDROM. Using the RH 5.1, I am able to get alway the way thru disk partition, and package load
before it bombs out on me. With RH 7.1 I get an error that no OS can be found and with RH 8.0 it
starts its load, finds the hard drive and appears to be loading fine, until I get the following errors:

running install...
running /sbin/loader
install exited abnormally -- received signal 11
sending termination signals...done

If needed, I can provide painful details.
