i have found Red Rain here to essentially be Red Bull, but about a buck cheaper.. all the other RB substitutes I've tried suck.

They are legit to me, and get me going in the morning just as good as Red Bull.

Aldi's often has name brand items with their own labeling, but when I took a can to the grocery store I couldn't find an exact ingredients match, so I don't know who makes them.

If there is an aldi's near you, its a must to try them since they are so relatively inexpensive. I buy them by the case.

/EDIT: reg. your question about being in the states...no, Aldi is one of the largest grocery retailers in the world, altho according to their site,, there are none in canada.

I've had Red Bull once, it's not bad.
The price is bad.

less then 50 cents buys me a 24oz bottle of mountain dew (when they are on sale, 6 cost $2.50)
I can spend 50 cents on a big cup of coffee with more caffeine.

In other words, I'm not payin $2 for a tiny little drink when I can buy MUCH more of something else that I like better.

dude redbull tastes great.. love that stuff its like crack.

If you can find Jolt in your area, it comes in this new "Battery bottle" that is a metal spraypaint can with a screw top. That stuff has some kick, my favorite is the Blue cuz it's the best blue soda ever. Jolt has lots of caffine which tends to be counteracted by the sugar low you experience.

Then there is the green one, Jolt "Energy" which has "no carbs, no calories, just kick." Spelnda, Taurine, Ginsing and Caffine. Kinda tastes like Mt Dew and has citric acid in it to quench thirst. The first time I drank half a bottle of this stuff I thought I was going to explode. I started babbling incoherently and rapidly and couldn't settle down for almost an hour. Which is suprising because I never react to anything like that cuz I'm a big, slow, ponderous kinda guy.

Worth trying it though.
