but, in generals, if you have more than 50 units, the game crashes also 🙁
not to mention most of the more powerful things ( not SW) could be shot down
Zero Hour has made many a fun night for me, that is if you can stand the laggyness and crappy AI...

Never had a crash but my game does lag a bit with a ton of units on screen. In ZH, whenever I play the computer I don't even bother building tanks. Just get choppers around to defend the base and they can hold off just about any kind of attack until the superweapons are ready.

PS Superweapon General Chick > *

I wish Read alert would run on Win XP. I still have my Soviet Disc(alleid disc has long gone)

cause the soviets obviously ruled the allies. The only thing the allies had going for them were a bunch of small tanks and the huge battleship thing

that huge battlecruiser meant complete victory if you had enough anti sub and anti air defenses. I always preferred playing allied.

In Long Allied vs Allied games it was always fun to chronoshift the opponents battleship onto land. :Q

That was one great thing about Red Alert, the Superweapons were powerful but not soo obnoxiously power like in Generals where you don't even need to bother building anything but base defenses and super weapons.

allied had bad superweapons. soviets ruled in superweapon arena with a well placed nuke and a iron curtain used on a mammoth or V2 rocket launchercould take down smaller bases.

never tried it, but if you chrono a iron curtained unit, would that unit die?

I was talking about Generals 😉 But Red Alerts Superweapons were more balanced and the Nuke was pretty weak (it could barely take out a Resource Factory).

Actually, you could usually produce allied small tanks at a ridiculous rate once you had more than 2 war factories. I played a lot of guys who would build nothing but Mammoths and then Tesla themselves in.

It was only a matter of time until the Zerg got them 😉

well i forget the names of the buildings but when you played online it was all about building the construction buildings. The mor eyou built of them the faster you could build other things. then you could build tons and tons of places to build tanks and resources.

this was by FAR my favorite piece of computer game music

And I loved how you could specifically select tracks in RA.
