Really? I found the cut-scenes in C&C 3 so bad, the acting was horrid, it made me cringe and tried to skip them....

Again, really bad/cheesy acting is a hallmark of the series. That's the joke, the punch, etc. If you read any forums where you will find a lot of C&C fans you would realize there was quite a lot of hype over the cheesy acting in C&C3. It's been part of the series since the start. When it began, it was probably unintentional, they probably thought they were making it more realistic, but now it's more of a throwback.

Nah RA1 and TS were not cheesy, they were definately more serious games.

Yeah the cheesiness started with RA2. TS, RA1 and and the original CNC were pretty serious games.

Thank you sir, you said it well.

What a waste of money that would have been better spent on gameplay improvements...

True, but it's a hallmark of the series, and EA would be burned at the stake by fans for not including it.

But wouldn't you love to see Jenny McCarthy (as Tanya) tied down and tortured by the russians? Or the japanese? Or anyone? Die you loud mouthed annoying biotch!

sorry, i've wanted to see her die since Singled Out

Psh... RA2/Yuri was the best in the whole series. Then generals came along and ruined everything.

It was about damn time for another Red Alert, and since Westwood is gone and since Petroglyph can't make anything better than a Star Wars game and a crappy sci-fi RTS then I wouldn't see another company trying to touch the C&C franchise than EA, at least they've got the funds to hire actors and make cut scenes for a full fledged C&C game. The great days of the old C&C games are gone and we must look at C&C 3 and beyond with new eyes, and leave the nostalgia behind a bit. I liked C&C 3, Kane's Wrath was great as well and RA3 looks amazing.

EA acquired Westwood a long time ago, and created a new branch called EA West, which has all the original developers of the C&C series. Another reason why I like EA- they rescue dyeing development teams by acquiring them and letting them continue.

Not all of the Westwood employees work for EA, a good number of them left and created Petroglyph, and they developed Star Wars: Empire at War, its expansion pack and then Universe at War: Earth Assault.

I enjoyed RA2 even if the acting wasn't spectacular. Gameplay was definitely fun though so I guess my standards are not the same as all of yours. I liked Generals as well...had some fun times with that. Almost like Battlefield 2 but with more tanks. Definitely will try RA3 once it's out.

I thought RA2 and TS were the worst in the series. With RA + expansion packs and CNC3 being the best. I don't think Generals should even count as a CNC game because it's so different from all the others.

On another note the RA3 beta has some really good music. It's good to see they got Frank behind it again.
