Nowadays, next to StarCraft and Company of Heroes, they are just generic RTS's with very shallow gameplay that only stand out thanks to the nostalgia factor. I will most certainly not be getting RA3, especially since it will be getting the Secure-ROM DRM crap attached to it.

DOW should stand out in your mind as different if you played it at all.

Hate to spoil the mood, but how many activations do you think you'll get with this? 3?

You get 5. EA have already made a statement. Although maybe they will amend it to allow revoking installations depending on how much time they have and how nice they feel.

Another game I won't buy. I was kinda hoping that EA wouldn't use that DRM scheme, given that RA3 isn't nearly as big a title as Spore or Warhead. They don't learn very well, do they?

RA3 isn't nearly as big a title as spore or warhead? wtf are you smoking?

RA3 is a real time strategy game, they never sell as big or are as hyped as a first person shooter. And Spore has been hyped to all hell for years. Spore was probably the most anticipated title since the original Starcraft.

RA3 will sell a million copies faster than Crysis or Crysis Warhead did.

IIRC all the C&C/RA RTS games have sold in the million+ range.

I doubt Warhead will see very high sales figures at all, but Crysis did sell very well. At least, once word spread that the CryTek was fibbing when they said you'd need TriSLI to run the game playable.

I'll pass on RA3, unless the DRM scheme is removed before it launches.

Heh, I have a copy of RA2, but its of quasi-legality. I found the disks sitting in a cupboard while cleaning out a dorm room back when I was in the USAF. Just the disks, no key or anything else.

Might have been mine. I have my manual, with key, but no disks. Can't find them anywhere.

why? it retails for $30 or less and critically is being hailed as a superlative follow-up that addresses Crysis' weaknesses. And you have a base of over 1 million crysis purchasers who probably will be interested, especially at that price point

I like how RA3 is shaping up, looks fun. The Kane series is serious enough, I'm happy with RA going the campy route.
