I often have these dreams:
- Falling to an abyss
- Driving a car where the brakes doesnt work
- In a school set up where I forgot to study for an exam, or forgot to turn in an assigment

Do u guys also have these dreams?

A few times I've had a dream where I go to a class to take a test, but I'd never been to the class before.

Common interpretations of those kinds of dreams are that you're not in control of some aspect of your life.

I have this dream nightly:

Some kind of disaster happens on Earth and all the men and the ugly women die. I am the only man that survives. Thus, as a brave human male, I travel the Earth in my attempt to replenish the waning human population.

Good times.

I have that one sometimes, but it's probably related to how I procrastinate a lot, hehe

I think everyone has the "falling" dream. I used to know the reason for it, but I forgot what it meant; but I am 99% sure that every human at least once has this dream, and it occurs in a state between sleep and awake, where you are almost asleep, but not quite.

Isn't it weird how you almost always wake up before you hit the ground? Or die in general?

Has anyone ever had a sequential dream? Where you dreams something and then pick up where you've left off the next night? I had one of those about 10 years ago. Went on for 6 nights. Coolest. Thing. Ever. It had something to do with school but I can't remember anything else about it besides that.

Couple nights ago I dreamt I was next to a nuclear bomb when it went off. Had some this huge stomach turn..and then woke up with a gasp.

I've only had that happen after waking up for a few minutes then going back to sleep.

I think that is like the purpose of the dream, I really don't remember. But yeah, it's funny when you are almost asleep, and then all of a sudden, your body like spasms, and you wake up going WTF.

I don't have recurring dreams so much as recurring scenarios or locations for my dreams. One of them is a neighborhood that's really idealized in a way... it's hard to explain. One recurring theme I experience is a variation of the classic trying to run but can't dream, except it's replaced with trying to punch, or trying to kick, or something, and for some reason it's really difficult.

Actually, and I don't like admitting this, I used to have a lot of dreams that centered around a certain friend betraying me in some way, and a lot of really violent dreams that I woke up from feeling very upset. Really unhealthy stuff, I think... I'm glad I don't have them anymore. They couldn't have been good.

As for waking up before you die, I've actually had two dreams where I died in gun fights alongside my father. Really weird.

There is a neurological reason for this sensation just as you're falling to sleep, but isn't normally categorized as a 'dream sequence' because they are usually short. It's usually just a quick feeling in your chest, or a jiggy of your feet. True dreams of falling lasts much longer, and can be 'led' up to that.

Anyways, some 'interpretations' of some of the dreams in these... teeth falling out, means you're in a bad financial situation. Falling in dreams... well depends, are you frighten of it? If you are, it means you have failed to achieve something in real life that was important to you. If you aren't, it means you have overcome something important.

About the school dreams, it depends if you're still in school. If you're not, and you're dreaming about school, then it means you have some childhood insecurities that are still giving you anxieties. If you ARE still in school, then it's probably more direct, that you do have a fear of forgetting to show up for an exam or turn in an assignment. It's similar to how a soldier might dream of getting shot if when they're sleeping in the bunker.

Anyways, those are just the interpretations i remembered while doing a paper on the relevance of dreams in modern psychoanalysis. I don't necessarily believe in all the pop culture dream interpretations, but i do believe that they can reflect anxieties we might have in real life.

I usually don't have huge falls in my dreams, like off a cliff or whatever. I'll trip or fall off a bike.

I've dreamt my mother being killed (really disturbing, at an early age too and i still remember it) and myself being shot.

Has anyone had the dream where you dream that you wake up in bed and then have this overwhelming felling of dread, as if the devil himself is coming for you? You try to move and can't. You try to scream because you can't move but can only get out a squeek. I usually resort to willing myself to wake up. It is the most freakiest thing ever.

That's sleep paralysis. Do a google search and you'll find tons of hits on it.

Whoa I like your sig, I've watched the debate between that guy and a Shi'ite Mullah... he didn't fair well but overall the debate went nowhere as they usually do
