I feel like a 14 year old counterstrike player begging for a clan

I run a high school computer club. We have 6 comps networked for kids to use. They're pretty much on a string; we're upgrading some others which will be available next fall but this is what's currently up and running

3 IBM gl's with 192 mg memory p2 400's

3 premio celeron 266's with 192 mg memory

I thought the students would like to "claim" a computer and a team, let the comps run and see what they get.

Next fall we'll have 1 gig comps up.

heh... every cycle counts for every project! It really depends on what floats your boat... searching for aliens? cures for diseases? math & cryptography?

My main project is D2OL. This project is looking for the best drug candidates to battle Smallpox, Anthrax, Ebola, and, of new, SARS. The client doesn't take much memory, and behaves well with other programs as far as I can see. I've got it running on my main PC at work and a web server that I built that is running MySQL on it.

A pure math project whose team could use some help is the Seventeen Or Bust team.

Seti@Home is my choice of DC Applications. I've been running it for almost three years now and have recently really stepped up my daily output.

My choice would be Seventeen or Bust. You will be helping to solve a Mathematical problem that has been unproved for many many years. The project is fairly small, and therefore any work you do will have a huge effect on the Team. We (Anandtech) are currently in 2nd place overall, and 2nd place in daily production. However the team in fourth overall, and 1st in daily production, will be overtaking us soon. We could really use your help!

You could either get each of your friends to run it on your own account, or you could all use one account, and have a combined production, which will help you to move up in the rankings really quickly!

Using MathGuy's Service Handler, you can install the client, and allow it to run totally hidden on the computer, so you won't even know it's there! You can also, if you wish, set it to run at the absolutely lowest priority, if you find that it inteferes with any other programs you run. I play CS, BF1942 and some other games, and I find that even with the client at it's standard priority, it doesn't affect the games, or anything else I do with the computer, however having that extra bit of security of being able to run it at the lowest possible priority really helps

I will be looking forward to seeing you join Anandtech in whatever project you choose (hopefully Seventeen or Bust, however )

Please, choosee any of moentioned earlier project, but run it along with ChessBrain as it takes about ~1% of CPU power. Help our TeAm create the world largest virtual chess computer !!

I would suggest Folding@Home for the 400MHz machines, but it would be too much for the slower ones.
