A user (microscope/image based analysis) "lost" a bunch of images due to bad vendor software. I want to recover these images for him. What do you guys is the best option for me? TIA.

I've had good luck with GetDataBack. It should be very easy as long as the data has been overwritten.

r-studio or something like that.

And smack him with the "make backups!" clue stick.
