Recovering Formatted Files

Ok I was installing WinXP Pro on this ladies computer from her Windows ME edition and when I installed WinXP pro I did a quick format and file conversion to NTFS on her hard drive erasing everything from WinMe but when I finnished she told me she really needed these old MS Word files but I told her i deleted everything. I was wondering if there are any good program either freeware or shareware that I could download or get that would recover these lost MS word documents.

kool thanks for the info...any other imformation would be appreciated...and does anyone know that since i did a file system conversion it would ruin the files??
