Recovering excel file

So I spend about 1 hour on this excel spread sheet and then I took a break where I went online and starting download other excel spreadsheets while mine was still open.

After opening two other spread sheets I close them and decide to continue on mine... but I can't find it! It somehow decided to close itself and stupid me I didn't save it.

Is there anything I can do to recover it? Where are temporary excel files stored? I looked in Document & Settings for my profile but so far no luck.

any ideas?

Do a quick search for files that have some text strings that you may have entered into the spreadsheet.

Also, look in the temp folders.
