Recovering data from phone

I dropped my LG G2 from about 2' and managed to obliterate the screen. Unlike previous phones where everything would still work even though the screen was cracked, this one is now completely locked up. It put itself in hardware mode so I can answer calls, but that's about it. I've got insurance and paid the $100 deductible and have a "new" one on the way.

My problem is that like a bonehead, I didn't backup anything on the phone and now I'm locked out. I tried plugging a USB cord in and got nothing which I guess means that debugging was never turned on.

What are my options? Is there some software out there that will let me hack into my phone?

I would try to use ODIN and try to pull the data off the phone

edit: nevermind, looks like you can't

You might want to take it to a professional computer store and have them try to recover the data for you.

The only thing I can think of is to buy a new screen, replace it, and see if Asurion will take back the phone they sent me. If not, it's a $250 mistake.

The phone is new. Given that everything is done via the cloud (email, contacts, data, etc...) what could you possible have on the phone that could be of importance? Pictures?

Also, can't you install some program from the Play Store that allows you to vpn into the phone?

Yea, mainly photos and some new contacts that were never backed up. I can't get on the phone so there's no way to get to the play store. I will on my next one though.

You can get to the Play Store via a desktop browser. Not sure how the vpns work though.
