How can I recover from a failed BIOS flash on an EPox EP-8KTA3 mobo?
I just attemped to flash the BIOS and it failed...resulting in the following message at bootup:

Award Bootlock BIOS v1.0
Copyright (c) 2000, Award Software

BIOS ROM checksum error
Keyboard Error or no keyboard present

Detecting floppy drive A media...
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I attempt to enter a DOS bootable disk and get a beep=Beeeep error sound and the INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER error over and over...

Is there any way I can recover from this? I'm wishing now that I hadn't even attempted...

YOU MUST HAVE AN AUTOEXEC.BAT on your bootable dos diskette

This autoexec.bat must contain the command line who launch the flash procedure.

the boot block bios wants just to reflash himself and if he doesn't find an autoexec.bat and bios files and flash program so it's normal if he shows an error message.

Acutally I got ahold of DrDFlash (www.bootdisk.com) and am going to use it to boot.
It will allow me to boot to the A:/ prompt and from there I can RESTORE the OLD.BIN...

Some suggestions indicated I may need to REFLASH to the ORIGINAL version of the BIOS, but wouldn't I be able to just RESTORE and get it back?

Just curious...I hate BIOS and don't know why I ever messed with flashing it!

well crapola!
That didn't work...now I'm reading that there shouldn't be any HIMEM or any other files on the bootdisk. What's right?
