recovering a file deleted from a network share

is this possible? i found this link:

but since the Previous Versions tab doesn't show up, I guess that the Shadow Copies is not enabled.

Does anyone know of a way to recover these files or where they go if you delete them?

If you don't have Shadow Copies or backups of the file, I don't know any way to get it back.

Shadow service runs a 2003 server. If you are trying to recover the file on the server itself, you still need to try the recovery from a network share. In that case, I create a mapped drive on that server to the folder on the server itself. Otherwise you can try and install the client and see if you can recover it from a workstation.
