Recover hard drive data?

Long story, my second hard drive now has two partitions that show that no data is recognized. I got a program that gave me a free scan to see if there was data, and all my data is still there. Is there another way other than $200 for the program to get the data back? A program that will undo the partition (made on WinXP but the drive was/is being used on WinME (again, don't ask 😛 🙂), to merge the partitions, to recognize the data, and to recover the data? Any DOS workaround? DOS says it can't read any data.

Thanks! 🙂

Search around the net for a freebie copy of Lost and Found. Should still be available. After download, the instal makes 3 floppies, Boot from the first one and you will be able to copy your data to a good drive.

Hmm $15. That I can live with. Now before I buy it, I rebooted and it showed both HDs but it said that C (corrupted is D) was corrupted and could not be used as a destination file. However it works perfectly. It's where the OS is and the HD that the comp is running on. How can this be fixed?
