Recording singing/talking

Hello, not sure this the right spot for this so please move it if it is not. Was wondering about good portable devices to record singing and/or talking. Also what are some good brands for mics for the PC to record singing? Better to get other stuff besides a mic i'm sure but not really sure what all i'd need.
 
You might try contacting sweetwater.com. They have excellent customer service and they could probably get you on the right track.
