Recording From The Internet

Hi
I have a pc with a Sound Blaster PCI 16 sound card in it. I'm trying to record music off of the internet and not having any luck. I've lost the documentation on how to use the sound card.
My system is:
AMD 1.2 gig T-Bird
768 ram
Asus A7v-133a motherboard.
Using Roxio Easy CD Creator Platinum
Win XP Home

I'm not having any luck trying to record and save for future playback. (Trying to record the holiday music off of the AOL Radio Site)
I've been thinking of upgrading the soound card to the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.
Would thathelp me to record off of the internet?
Thanks

What are you trying to record to? A Tape Deck? You need a mini-din to coax cable. (sound card has a "line-out" jack)

If you're recording on your computer, you only need software.

Hi
What I want to do is record or save the music I hear on the internet to my hard drive or to the cdr.
I am listening to the AOL Radio in particular the holiday music.
Last night, I tried to patch the line out to the line in on the sound card. That didn't work as there was a "motorboating" sound.
I also tried to use the Soundstrean feature in Easy Cd Creator and didn't have any luck. I read the Soundstread directions again and I think I did everything right.
Thanks

You need to select the right recording source before you have any chance of doing this.
Open the windows mixer,
Select options -> properties
then select the radio box for 'Adjust Recording Volume.'
Select Wave/MP3 as your source and turn the volume up.
You should now be able to record what you're hearing in Sound Recorder or indeed anything else.

Alternatively, if you have Winamp and find radio stations you like through Winamp Radio you can use StreamRipper .

I've done this and it's super simple and sounds great.
