I've tried computer desk after computer desk for 15 years. No matter how much I like each at first, I became disappointed with each because of construction (most use particle board which is lousy when wetted) or had a distinct lack of drawers (I'm a packrat and LOVE drawers!) or ended up looking/feeling too cheap or came apart when being moved (particle board construction again!)
I finally found, after looking for months, a regular 6-drawer office desk at a household auction. Solid walnut, including the drawers and their bottoms, dovetailing throughout, leather top. Measures 60"L X 32"W. The size was more than adequate to take my tower (Antec Sonata), my 17" LCD, my Samsung laser printer, and fit a cast-off computer desk hutch someone was getting rid of (their desk had also fallen apart so I took the hutch home form it before he threw the rest away). The hutch is 48"W x 12"D and fits the desk perfectly.
Now, I've got a very nice functional desk that's lasted over 50 years before I got it and will last well beyond my days on this earth, it's that solid.
On the other hand, I occasionally see at Sam's Club a very solidly built oak computer-dedicated desk, but it goes for over $600.....kinda pricey.
As for chairs, Office Depot has anice one in leather I love.....again, sorta pricey at $325, but as in anything else, you get exactly what you pay for and with furniture, sub-$100 chairs tend to have either thin foam or foam that packs down quickly or non-padded arms (cannot stand hard plastic arms....yech!)
