Hi all,
I just got a WD 2000JB hard drive to replace my triad (2x 27GB, 1x 80GB). I'm using Win2K and I'm planing on reinstalling everything.
What I want to know is what are the best NTFS cluster sizes for my purposes? I've never used NTFS before, so...
Drive C: 6 GB NTFS ONLY for WINDOWS
Drive D: 180 GB NTFS for most everything
Drive E: 2 GB NTFS for SWAP FILE ONLY
My guess would be:
Drive C: 16-32K clusters
Drive D: 32-64K clusters
Drive E: 64K clusters
Is there anything I'm missing here? I read some articles on the web saying 4K clusters were the best to use on a boot drive, but I think the article was old (way before we had 200GB drives). Any quick tips?
Thanks!
Augie
