Hi there, fan crapped out on me couple of days ago.

Any recommendations to which cooling fan AND where to buy?

Zalman heatpipe zm80D. Allows you to cool it off sufficiently with a low speed fan of your choosing.

Artic Cooling VGA Silencer with solid copper OCZ BGA ramsinks.

The Thermalright V-1 if you can find one...Really for your card the Artic Cooling, OCZ is a proven combination.

In my humble opinion of course !!!!!

I use the VGA silencer - I use it at low so it's inaudible and gets rid of the heat right out of the case.

It's currently clocked to 400 core / 370 memory

With it turned up I can overclock the core happily to 420mhz or so - I think upto 425.

I'd just say whatever you do don't spend too much money as your 9800 won't be cutting it anymore and if you bought it new now wouldn't cost too much.

Update:

I ended up getting the ATI silencer from arctic cooling and have to say it's working great. My case temperature has actually dropped because the heat is the actually enclosed and exhausted out.

If the Arctic Cooling did that much for your case temps also then I would suggest that you need to rethink the way your cooling is laid out in your case!

Because a case with PROPER ventilation would NOT be that more marginally cool!!

I got a Cooler Master CoolViva VGA Heatsink/Fan. I got this because it was cheap for me, and I wanted a passive sink cooling for my 9800. This thing was a PAIN IN THE @$$ to install. But at least it works.
