Recommendations

I am looking to find a case below $150 that has plenty of room to expand, slide out motherboard tray, easy to install drive bays (for instance drive bays on tracks). Obviously good cooling is important. I would like to get a case that is ideal for an AMD 1.2 GHZ, but would like one that will be able to hold the new motherboard that the P4's will require soon in case I decide to go that route somewhere down the line. Does anyone have any recommendations? Is it even possible to get a case that will support both?

SX1030- although no slide out MB tray, its so big and roomy inside you dont need a slide out tray to work on it. I changed my HSF with my components installed- no removing PSU, drives or anything. I've got 5 drives in mine now and I'm adding another soon (Yamaha 16X10X40 CDRW). Its awesome for convenience, and at around $100 a steal.

I have heard good things about that case. Do you know whether it meets ATX 2.03 specifications? Also, do you know how it compares to the Supermicro SC750-A Full Tower ATX?

If I am remembering correctly and ATX 2.03 means that it works with PIV.....nope it's not. Hmmmm.....comparing the Antec to the Supermicro.....new "most loved case of the OC community" vs. old "most loved case of the OC community. I would have to say that the Antec would win for three reasons.

1. Having to take off the front bezel to remove the side panel sucks a fat one. Especially if you have a baybus.

2. The swing out, easy open door of the SX1030 si damn sweet.

3. The 750A doesn't have any cooling fans behind the CPU, plus it has the HD's hanging right over the CPU which makes matters worse.

Scratch that 3 reasons part cause here comes number 4.

4. Antec's drive rails have no comparison....they ROCK

is the atx 2.03 spec a real big issue for you? if not, just get the sx1030. you can easily open up the front to accept 92mm fans and it has PLENTY of room. plus, it looks better than most other cases.

cooling is nice on it too.

I'm sure there are plenty of other good cases... I'm just recommending this one.

I also need to find out about a new smaller case for my girl's system. I'm going to HOPEFULLY be building her a 1ghz+ amd system, or maybe a p4 if they come down by summer hehe. I need good cooling, and plenty of fan spaces. I don't even really care about the bundled power supply that much, because i'd love to use that as an opportunity to give her my antec 300w (working like a charm) and pick up an enermax 400+ ah damn, she'll prolly need to better PS.

fong kai 320b , looks nice. mothermoard tray is not removable, however the hd cage comes out via a lever. cooling is nice, and is spec'd large enough to support dual xeons
