Time to spend a little tax money. I want to upgrade my AMD system below. I am thinking for an Intel-based system, the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P mobo and the E8400 cpu. Cooler to be decided. I have memory already, and I don't know if going 1066 over 800 is worth the cost of replacing what I have. I plan to overclock.
For AMD consideration is the Phenom XII 720, motherboard to be researched a bit yet as well as memory and the cooler.
Some decisions I have to make yet are: get new memory, or move my G-Skill from my other system into the revamp. I know I want 2 x 2 gigs for now, maybe 4 more gigs in the future. Which cpu cooler to get. I plan to overclock whatever I get, and my Arctic Cooling does well, but suggestions on a good cooler would be great.
I see the AMD chips are overpriced right now, but if it's competitive with the Intel I'd spend the money rather than wait a month or better for the price to come down. (I spent $110 on flowers and dinner yesterday, what's $20 extra for a cpu? hehe)
