Recommendations for Remote PC Access?

I need to access multiple PCs from work (covertly) and multiple friends' PCs from home.

Does Windows XP have something like this? Otherwise, what's the best out there please?

Windows XP Pro has built in Remote Desktop.

Or you can try RealVNC

If you mean "covertly" to mean "to bypass restrictions put in place by the IT department", this activity can probably get you fired (probability of detection dependent on how competent the IT guys are). Just FYI.

The free version has all the funtions you need.

I actually installed this to my friends PC so I can remote control his pc when he has problems.

www.monster.com because if you are violating the network TOS, then you WILL get caught, and likely fired over this.

why some people bother helping others when the ones asking for help clearly have some mischievous intent is beyond me.

Back on track here.

i'm also having the same issue. I knew windows home premium didnt't have remote access built in, but I stupidly thought that I would be able to find a cheap remote access client that worked better than RDP.. I was wrong so far.

Logmein wont work for my needs--I've already checked it out

I tried VNC enterprise edition but I only get like 16 colors and the speed is horrible compared to remote desktop on my xp box. I'm seeing 5-10 second lag whereas before it was 1-2 seconds. Its also pretty expensive.

What else is there?
