Recommendations for home library software?

Greetings all,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend some decent software for me to catalogue my home library. It's not massive--around a thousand volumes--but I want something that will handle expansion. I've heard good things about Readerware (with their barcode scanner and server support), but have to admit to being almost completely in the dark as to my other options. Absolute price limit is ~75$ (not including a CCD scanner). If this is a completely unreasonable price expectation, feel free to let me know.

Basically, looking for the best combo of price, search/cross-index power, and future-proofing. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Theres some iPhone apps out there but I haven't found one that allows you to integrate with a desktop app that works with a barcode scanner.

Really what would be awesome would be something that's basically just like DVD profiler but for books.

From what I've found it really looks like Readerware is about the best bet.

Try this one (it costs $195)

Or this, more intended for home use at about $50 for the PRO version

Edit: You can buy it with either of 2 optional bar code scanners
One does books one by one ... The other can do an entire shelf
up to 1000 titles at a time and then download into the program.

You know, I might just need this myself, as I have a large collection of
hardcovers, in Fiction, Non Fiction, Historical & Reference type works.
